Introduction, COVID meets Cancer

February 18 2020

The first confirmed case of COVID in America was on February 20th, Shortly after my husband was diagnosed with a rare terminal cancer. I was a nurse and it was a scary time.

That was 3 years ago and I have learned a lot about self care while being a caregiver. I have learned a lot about grief and self compassion. I have learned a lot about managing expectation and about self compassion. I have learned that the past is gone, we can only learn from it and move on. I have learned the future is always tomorrow away and we will never really have tomorrow and that today and this moment is the only thing that truly matters and being present is where you can find peace, joy, and rest.

I decided to start this blog to share my experience, share an excerpt of a journal or memory and a self care tool or exercise that aided me and kept me above water through a pandemic and caring for a loved one with cancer. I want to share my story out of a desire to help someone going through something similar.

Life is always going to throw you a curveball, the other shoe is going to drop eventually... resilience helps us on this journey called life... and its better to have a buddy while we travel.

New to blogging, Excited what I can learn from this new journey and who I might walk with from time to time
